TURKISH MPs ANNOUNCE RESULTS OF THEIR POLL MONITORING
Turkish parliamentarians led by chairman of Turkey-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Mustafa Kabakci gave a press conference at the Independent Press Center on results of their monitoring of Wednesday’s presidential election in Azerbaijan.
Kabakci said the voting process was held in line with democratic standards, with no violations recorded.
Head of the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation Akkan Suver mentioned the high turnout in the poll. He praised the fact all constituencies and polling stations were provided with high-tech equipment.
The parliamentarians said installation of webcams at some polling stations was a significant step towards ensuring transparency and accuracy in the election.
They also mentioned the fact preliminarily results announced by the Central Election Commission were the same as those of exit polls.
