UNESCO TO TEACH MUSEUM MANAGEMENT AZERBAIJANIS
Responding the question of UNESCO representative on problems of museums, all chiefs of the museums noted that the material problems with which are connected issues of repair of premises, qualitative reserve of the exhibits, release of booklets, CD, maintaining libraries or opening shops etc.
Goal of the international organization is to pass international experience on management of museums and ensure integration of Azerbaijan museums to the world space, noted at the meeting the staff member of UNESCO Susan Oggs. Further, the members of ICOM underlined the necessity to pay much more attention in future to close contacts of museums with the public.
Chairman of the National Committee of ICOM, Roya Tagiyeva informed that Azerbaijan department of ICOM was set up in 1993. At her words, there are good museum collections and high education level of the members, while weak contacts with public. Collection of the museums should be brought to population, serve public. The museums should interest the people to visit the museums.
On the next day, representatives of ICOM visited Museum of Art.
