‘Uruguay is interested in developing bilateral relations with Azerbaijan’

Baku, January 22 (AZERTAC). “Uruguay is interested in developing bilateral relations with Azerbaijan,” said visiting special envoy, ProSecretary of the Office of the President of Uruguay Diego Cánepa in a meeting with Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov.

Cánepa noted that he was well aware of large scale projects and developments in the South Caucasus and Central Asian regions and they attentively follow development processes in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan`s FM Elmar Mammadyarov informed the special envoy about the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenian armed forces and its grave consequences.

Mammadyarov recalled resolutions adopted by international organizations calling for the end of occupation.

The Foreign Minister noted Azerbaijan was also interested in expanding relations with Uruguay.

He stressed the need to identify mutually suitable economic sectors to cooperate and to explore opportunities to invest in those areas.
