XXVIII OLYMPIC GAMES CLOSING CEREMONY IN ATHENS

Closing ceremony of Olympiad was held in Athens, on August 29. President of Azerbaijan Republic, President of National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev attended the ceremony.

In his speech, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee Jacques Rogge highly appreciated work of Olympiad hosts. He congratulated everyone, who took part in preparation of the Games. In conclusion, President of IOC announced summer games Olympiad closed.

Every tradition, including Olympic relay race was taken into account. Banner of Olympiad was lowered, lap of honor made and then handed over the next host of Olympic games – Peking. Little Greece girl put out fire of Athens Olympiad.

Performance of the capital of Olympiad-2008 was demonstrated in the Athens Stadium. Closing ceremony has been continued about three hours.
