YEAR OF AZERBAIJAN TO BE HELD IN BERLIN
The Year of Azerbaijan will start on March 27 in Germany, Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.
During a three-day opening ceremony, German music lovers will enjoy listening to the performance by the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra after Uzeyir Hajibayov at the Konzerthaus Berlin.
The orchestra will play works by Azerbaijan`s prominent composers Uzeyir Hajibeyov, Gara Garayev, Soltan Hajibayov and Fikrat Amirov.
The Year of Azerbaijan will feature numerous events, including a concert by jazz musician Aziza Mustafazade, mugham singer Alim Gasimov, Bakustic Jazz group with Salman Gambarov, as well as a concert of young Azeri vocalists accompanied by Azerbaijan State camera orchestra after Gara Garayev.
The Year will also feature exhibitions of works by Azeri artists at the Berlin-Baku Gallery as well as Uzeyir Hajibeyov`s “Arshin mal alan” spectacle to be performed by the Baku Marionette Theatre`s troupe.
On March 26, a week-long festival featuring seven Azerbaijani films will start at the Arsenal cinema in the German capital.
