AZERBAIJAN PEACEKEEPING CONTINGENT COMING HOME FROM IRAQ

A contingent of 91 Azerbaijani peacekeepers is coming back from Iraq. On the occasion, a welcoming ceremony is to be held on Wednesday evening at Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku.

An official meeting with the personnel will take place in the Defense Ministry’s military unit “N” on January 24.

The contingent has been replaced, on a rotating basis, by another one of the same number, which left for Iraq in early January.

Along with Iraq, Azerbaijani servicemen are involved in peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan and Kosovo.
