AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT, GREEK PREMIER MAKE PRESS STATEMENTS
Athens, February 17 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis have made press statements following their meeting here today, our special correspondent reports.
Kostas Karamanlis said Azerbaijan is an important country for Greece, adding the two countries enjoy multi-faceted relations. “We have successful energy cooperation with Azerbaijan,” he said.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with outcomes of his visit, calling it a success. He characterized the Azerbaijan-Greece relations as friendly and cooperative, noting the two countries enjoy a high-level political dialogue and successful energy cooperation. “Greece is the first European Union country that Azerbaijan is directly exporting its natural gas to” he said. “Azerbaijan will continue to contribute to ensuring European energy security” the President emphasized.
Afterwards, the Azerbaijani leader and Greek Premier responded to questions from journalists.
