Azerbaijan to set up reliable environment for ICT development

Baku, December 4 (AZERTAC). “Specialists and consulting firms consider Azerbaijan is developing a favorable environment for the progress of ICT”, Azerbaijani Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov told the nternational conference “Azerbaijan 2020: The vision of the Future”.

“Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to develop Information-Communication Technologies (ICT) and establish ICT State Fund”, the Minister underlined.

Mr. Abbasov noted that Azerbaijani President`s decree on special innovation zone in November “is the second step taken in this direction”. The program intends to assign the essential projects such as creating resource centers in the techno parks, development of small and medium innovative businesses, increasing export opportunities and training ICT developers.

Azerbaijan also takes further steps in assisting the local companies and providing soft loans.
