AZERBAIJANI AMBASSADOR PRESENTS HIS CREDENTIALS TO IRAQ PRESIDENT
Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Jordan and Iraq Elman Arasly presented his credentials Wednesday to Jalal Talabani, President of Iraq.
During the meeting, Talabani stressed the importance of developing ties between the two nations. He highlighted positive trends regarding political situation in Iraq, saying a huge progress has been achieved as compared with that in previous year.
Arasly offered President Ilham Aliyev’s greetings to President Talabani and wished him every success in the efforts towards normalization of situation in Iraq. He said Azerbaijan pays a particular attention to development of relationships with the countries of the region.
Later the same day, Arasly met with Iraq’s Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zibari to give a copy of his credentials to him. Zibari said Iraq is keen on developing relationships with Azerbaijan.
Arasly noted Azerbaijan would continue its efforts to strengthen relationships with Middle East countries.
Azerbaijani diplomat gave an interview to Baghdad television and answered the journalists’ questions.
