AZERBAIJANI ARTIST’S EXHIBITION DEMONSTRATED IN VATICAN
Exhibition of pictures featuring biblical theme by Ashraf Heybatov, prominent Azerbaijani artist and member of the UNESCO International Federation of Artists was demonstrated in THE State of Vatican.
Elchin Amirbeyov, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Switzerland who is simultaneously accredited in Vatican said at the ceremony that the event aims to develop relations between Azerbaijan and Vatican, as well as to contribute to prompting dialogue among civilizations, cultures and religions.
Bernard Ardura, Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Culture said the event is of great importance in terms of European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 declared by the European Union. He highly appreciated the level of religious tolerance in Azerbaijan, stressing that opening of the Catholic Church in the country is evidence to that.
