Azerbaijani, Brazilian sports ministries sign MoU on cooperation
Baku, April 25 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Brazil have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of sports as part of a visit of Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov to Brazil.
Prior to the signing ceremony, Azad Rahimov met Brazilian Sports Minister Aldo Rebelo.
They discussed the current state of sports relations between the two countries, adding there is great potential for development of this cooperation.
The two ministers also discussed issues of participation of Azeri youth, junior footballers and coaches in seminars, and World Cup-2014 volunteer programs in Brazil.
The Azerbaijani Minister also met President of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CBP) Andrew Parsons. Rahimov briefed Andrew Parsons on care and attention to paralympic sports in Azerbaijan. They also discussed prospects for cooperation between the countries` paralympic committees.
The visit also saw Minister Rahimov met with Deputy Secretary General of Cooperation, Culture and Commercial Promotion of Foreign Ministry Hadil da Rocha Vianna, and President of Brazil`s Foreign Relations Committee of the House of Deputies Nelson Pellegrino. The Minister also gave an interview to ‘TV Brasil’.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Brazil Elnur Sultanov was present at the meetings.
