AZERBAIJANI FOREIGN MINISTER MAMMADYAROV MEETS WITH SLOVAK DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER
Baku, May 19 (AZERTAC). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has today met with visiting Deputy Foreign Minister of Slovakia Olga Algayerova
Algayerova noted the aim of her visit is to study opportunities for expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan. Algayerova stressed the need to deepen bilateral relations. She expressed hope that opening of the honorable consulate of Azerbaijan in Bratislava would contribute to expansion of cooperation in all spheres. Deputy Minister pointed out that Slovak companies are participating in the transport and infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan. She said Slovakia is keen on cooperating with Azerbaijan under the EU Eastern Partnership program.
Minister Mammadyarov hailed Slovakia`s increasing interest in Azerbaijan. He said expansion of ties with Slovakia, EU new member country, opens up good opportunity for having Azerbaijan recognized in Europe. According to Mammadyarov, cooperation between diplomatic academies and organization of culture days is very important for deepening Slovakia-Azerbaijan ties.
Mammadyarov noted Azerbaijan is keen on developing economic, humanitarian and security cooperation as part of the Eastern Partnership program.
The Minister emphasized the need to find a solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, adding there will be no stability and security in the region unless the problem is solved.
