Baku, October 24, AZERTAC
As part of the European Union (EU)-funded Solidarity for Health Initiative and the USAID-funded Azerbaijan Pandemic Response Activity (APR) implemented by WHO Country Office in Azerbaijan, 19 hospital Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) committee members and national healthcare professionals from Azerbaijan have successfully completed the study program in Turkiye.
Participants of the study programme visited the Ministry of Health and received information about the IPC practice of Turkiye during the sessions led by Turkish specialists of the General Directorate of Public Health. They visited various medical facilities in Ankara and observed the IPC practices of hospitals onsite. The Azerbaijani specialists familiarized themselves with the country experience of Turkiye on combating antimicrobial resistance and healthcare-associated infections, as well as hand hygiene multimodal strategy.
Following the visit, a meeting dedicated to the results of the IPC study programme was held, the participants were awarded certificates. This technical collaboration between TABIB and the Ministry of Health of Turkiye will contribute a great deal to strengthening the IPC program in Azerbaijan.
