Azerbaijani ICT Minister meets French ambassador
Baku, January 15 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov has met French ambassador to the country Pascal Meunier.
The ambassador expressed satisfaction over the participation of French companies in launching of Azerbaijan`s first satellite into geostationary orbit in February 2013 from space center Kuru in French Quiana, South America via French rocket carrier “Ariane Space".
Noting telecommunications satellite will play an important role in the future development of Azerbaijan, Pascal Meunier said that French side will continue to make its contribution to the development of space industry in Azerbaijan.
Attaching special emphasis on the expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and France in the field of ICT, the ambassador said that as it was last year French companies would represent their country with a national pavilion in the International Telecommunications and Information Technologies Exhibition and Conference - BakuTel 2013. Moreover, France will actively participate in the conference “Europe-2020 - Azerbaijan-2020” to be held in Brussels in June on the occasion of new stage of relations between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
In turn, Minister Ali Abbasov stressed that the cooperation with French companies will be improved in the future and this cooperation will be fruitful for both countries, at the same time cooperation in the field of ICT will play an important role in bringing the political relations closer.
