AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENT SPEAKER MEETS BELARUS AMBASSADOR

Baku, April 29 (AZERTAC). Milli Majlis speaker Ogtay Asadov has met here today with Belarus ambassador Nikolay Pastkevich.

Asadov noted talks held and documents signed during reciprocal visits of the two countries` leaders opened up ample opportunities for deepening relations even more. He praised the activity of friendship groups in the parliaments of both countries.

Speaker noted Azerbaijani leader makes every effort to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Asadov described establishment of the Congress of Azerbaijani communities in Minsk in 2003 as a landmark event. He wished every success to ambassador in his efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.

Ambassador said he observed March 18 referendum in Azerbaijan. Patskevich congratulated Asadov on the conduct of referendum in line with world standards.

Patskevich said President Ilham Aliyev`s visit to Belarus helped to elevate bilateral relations to qualitatively new level.
