AZERBAIJANI, RUSSIAN TOP DIPLOMATS HAVE PHONE TALK
Baku, January 16 (AZERTAC). The issue of handover by Russia of arms and ammunition to Armenia was the focus of the telephone conversation, which took place on Friday between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Azerbaijani counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov, according to the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, Minister Lavrov expressed assurance that investigation into the case his department carried out together with the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces has revealed no facts of official handover of arms and ammunition by the Russian Federation - including the Russian military unit No 102 deployed in the city of Gumri - to Armenia in 2008.
The sides have agreed to continue consultations to look deeper into the matter.
The telephone conversation was initiated by the Russian side.
