The agricultural production in Azerbaijan increased 2.4 times from 1996 to 2016, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. The cultivation sector grew 2.4 times, while the cattle breeding sector saw a 2.5-fold increase, the ministry said.

Official figures for the 20 years suggest that grain production rose from 1.018 million tons to 3.065 million tons (3-fold growth), potato production from 214,600 tons to 902,400 tons (4.2-fol growth), vegetable production from 570,000 tons to 1.27 million tons (2.2-fold increase), meat production from 115,700 tons to 303,800 tons (2.6-fold growth), milk production from 843,300 tons to more than two million tons (2.4-fold growth), egg production from 477 million eggs to 1.6 billion eggs (3.4-fold growth).
