AZERBAIJAN`S MINISTER OF EMERGENCY SITUATIONS VISITS BELARUS
Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations, colonel-general Kamaladdin Heydarov who has stayed in Belarus since January 17, met the same day with his Belarusian counterpart Anvar Bariyev.
Mr. Heydarov gave detailed information on activities of the Ministry.
He touched upon various directions to expand mutual cooperation between the Ministries of the two countries.
Briefing on works carried out in the field of mutual relations, Belarus Minister said there are good opportunities for further deepening of the current relations.
Ministers also discussed other issues of mutual interests.
Within the frameworks of the visit, Azerbaijani Minister met with the Prime Minister of this country Sergey Sidorsky.
Mr. Sydorsky said the two countries have great prospects to develop relations in all areas. The Prime Minister noted that the official visit by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in October 2006 has played significant role in boosting mutual ties between the two countries.
Mr. Sidorsky touched upon current level of cooperation between the Ministries of Emergency Situations of both countries, praised the 2007-2010 action plan agreed by the Ministries.
Azerbaijani Minister said his visit would positively impact on development of ties between the two ministries.
He pointed out that Azerbaijan had used Belarus` experience in establishment of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Cooperation between the ministries would be sustainable and useful, the Azerbaijani Minister underscored.
After the meeting, Mr. Heydarov, accompanied by his Belarusian counterpart visited Belarus Engineering Command Institute of Ministry of Emergency Situations. Azerbaijani minister and members of his delegation got acquainted with material and technical base of the Institute.
They saw trainings of rescue operations in emergence situations.
Later on, Mr. Heydarov met with Azerbaijani students of the Institute, and was curious about their cares and problems.
The visit ends January 19.
