AZERI FM MEETS GEORGIAN VICE SPEAKER
Baku, 24 February (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met today Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Pridon Todua.
They discussed a wide range of issues, including current state of Azerbaijan-Georgia relations and prospects for bilateral and multilateral parliamentary cooperation.
Mammadyarov expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan-Georgia relations, especially in economic and transport spheres. “Azerbaijan and Georgia have been successfully involved in joint transport projects of global importance” the Azerbaijani FM said. He also mentioned Azerbaijan`s making investments in Georgia`s economy and energy sector.
Todua described the Georgia-Azerbaijan relations as exemplary, adding the two countries` parliaments had also been “successfully cooperating with each other”.
The Georgian Vice Speaker thanked the Azerbaijani government for “always supporting my country`s position within international organizations”.
Regional issues were also discussed, and both Mammadyarov and Todua stressed conflicts existing in the region must be solved on the basis of territorial integrity and inviolability of borders of states.
