BAC SECOND MEETING HELD IN AMSTERDAM
Amsterdam, March 9 (AZERTAC). The second meeting of the Benelux Azerbaijanis Congress (BAC) was held Amsterdam, Netherlands on March 7.
President of the congress Sahil Gasimov delivered a report on the BAC`c activities.
The meeting was also addressed by Azerbaijani ambassador to Netherlands Fuad Isgandarov, chairman of the Azerbaijan-Luxembourg interparliamentary friendship group, MP Elmira Akhundova, head of the Azerbaijan-Netherlands interparliamentary working group, MP Adil Aliyev, department chief of the State Committee for Working with Diaspora Ilham Mammadov, head of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s office in Romania Igbal Hajiyev and others.
For assistance provided to the BAC, Sahil Gasimov named the persons who were awarded by the BAC. BAC presented highest eight-point star award to Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP for her successful activity to popularize Azerbaijani national values, history and rich culture, first-degree award to Nazim Ibrahimov, Chairman of the State Committee for working with Diaspora, Fuad Isgandarov ambassador, Elmira Akhundova and Adil Aliyev, Milli Majlis deputies.
Twelve members of the BAC board were elected. At the Board`s first meeting, Elsever Mammadov and Sahil Gasimov were elected chairman and honorary chairman respectively.
The meeting was attended by ambassadors of Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Georgia to Netherlands, representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish communities in Germany, France, Romania, UK and Benelux countries as well as Azerbaijanis living in Netherlands.
