Co-produced Azerbaijani-Israeli film premieres in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem

The screening of the film “Tradition Coming from the Centuries”, jointly presented by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Israel and the Sholumi Cultural Center, was held at Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Israel.
The documentary, directed by Rufat Asadov and co-produced by Azerbaijani and Israeli filmmakers, was produced by Shaul Siman-Tov.
Highlighting Azerbaijani-Israeli cultural ties, Ambassador Mukhtar Mammadov emphasized the deep, centuries-old friendship between the two nations, now elevated to a strategic level. He expressed confidence that the film, co-produced with Israeli partners, would further strengthen bilateral relations.
In his remarks, Rufat Asadov noted that the documentary portrays Azerbaijan as a historic and peaceful meeting point of diverse Eastern and Western cultures, underscoring the country’s long-standing traditions of multiculturalism and tolerance.
The next presentation of the film took place in Jerusalem, organized by the Azerbaijan-Israel International Association and the Sholumi Cultural Center. Representatives of various communities in Jerusalem attended the event.
The joint Azerbaijani-Israeli documentary highlights the work of Albert Rafiyev, a prominent carpet artist, collector, and researcher of Mountain Jewish heritage. It documents his efforts to preserve the cultural heritage of the Mountain Jews, combine Azerbaijani and Jewish cultural elements, and demonstrate a life of harmony between the two peoples.
The film has already received screening offers from several countries, including the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, and Russia.
