COE HELD ROUND-TABLE DISCUSSION IN BAKU
Discussion on “Applications of Fundraising Tactics” was held at COE office in Azerbaijan. Organized by the Council of Europe Secretariat within the circles of the Kiev Initiative, the meeting brought together national coordinators for regional programs on Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova and Armenia. British experts Rod Fisher, Timothy Mason and Lady Laysen attended the discussion.
Head of Cooperation with International Organizations and Programs Division of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Yashar Huseynli spoke on behalf of Azerbaijan.
Meeting participants debated over issues related to the regular meeting of national coordinators for Kiev Initiative, due in Baku on 4 December, 2008.
While meeting Robert Palmer, Director of Culture and Cultural and Natural Heritage of the Council of Europe and Katrine Merkle, Director of Cultural Policy, parties touched upon issues that pertain to the forthcoming conference of culture ministers of the European Council member states due in Baku on 2-3 December as well as the annual conference of national authors due in Baku on 3-4 December and timed to the tenth anniversary of COE ‘Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends in Europe’ project.
Dwelling on his visit to ISESCO on October 9, 2008, Robert Palmer said the main purpose of the visit was to discuss ISESCO accession to ‘Compendium’ project.
