DOCUMENT ON IMPLEMENTATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN 21ST CENTURY PROJECT SIGNED

Mehriban Aliyeva, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Hijran Huseynova, Chairperson of the Azerbaijan’s State Committee on Family, Women and Child Issues and Bruno Pouezat, UNFPA representative in Azerbaijan signed Wednesday a document on implementation of the joint project “Violence Against Women in the 21st Century”.

The Project envisages improvement of protective services for violence victims, conduct of trainings, capacity-building for respective government agencies to provide prophylactic, protective and rehabilitation services to the victims. It also aims to open pilot centers in Shuvalan settlement, Ganja, Lankaran and Nakhchivan cities to render rehabilitation services to violence victims and their children.

All services, including legal and psychological ones, as well as providing them with shelter, trainings and etc. will be free of charge.
