EDUCATION AND COMPUTERIZATION ARE PRIORITIES IN AZERBAIJAN, PRESIDENT ALIYEV
Meeting the delegates of Fourth session of Islamic conference of the ministers of higher education and scientific research in Baku, President Ilham Aliyev said the government attaches great importance to computerization of the secondary schools. He reminded Presidential decree on “Computerization of schools” adopted some years ago and other state programs.
The Head of State, in particular, stressed special President Contribution to the mentioned project: 20 million USD was allocated on school’s computerization. This program is directed towards the creation in Azerbaijan a unified educational information structure for increase of education’s quality by applying modern information technologies.
In the framework of the project, the implementation of modern technologies, developed on the basis of computers will be provided, President Aliyev stated. Efficient management of country’s education system and establishment of useful relations with educational institutions of the world by using international information network will be provided as well.
“If several years ago there were 3 computers per 1000 people now there is one computer per 29 pupils”, the President underlined.
