European Chess Championship continues in Legnica

Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). The European Chess Championship is continuing in the city of Legnica, Poland, where nine Azerbaijani players are contesting medals.

Azerbaijan`s squad includes Rauf Mammadov, Gadir Huseynov, Vasif Durarbayli, Azer Mirzayev, Eltaj Safarli, Kanan Izzet, Nijat Mammadov, Zaur Mammadov and Bahruz Rzayev.

Rauf Mammadov is among leaders of the tournament after two rounds.

The championship brings together near by 300 chess players from 38 countries. The tournament will feature 11 rounds.
