FOREIGN MINISTER OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS COMMANDER OF U.S. EUROPEAN COMMAND

Baku, May 21 (AZERTAC). Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov has met here today with Bantz J. Craddock, commander of U.S. European Command.

Craddock said huge changes have occurred since his first visit to Azerbaijan in 2003. US general hailed Azerbaijan`s contribution to peacemaking operations in Afghanistan.

Minister Mammadyarov said development in Baku is a part of the ongoing process in the country.

Minister pointed out the country is ready to contribute to stability and security in the world. He stressed the need to establish peace in the South Caucasus. Mammadyarov said Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan is the biggest obstacle to peace. Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of resolution of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on the basis of territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The meeting also focused on the bilateral and global issues of mutual interest.
