General equilibrium model of Azerbaijan presented
Baku, December 26 (AZERTAC). General equilibrium model of the Republic of Azerbaijan (AzMOD) has been presented today in Baku at the Baku Business Center.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Sevinj Hasanova spoke of Azerbaijan`s achievements gained as a result of socio-economic policy and importance of a model.
“A number of models were analyzed within the development of the national model. The model will play an important role in the prediction and the implementation of the strategy of country`s economic development, including in the private sector, and the task of doubling the GDP by 2020,” she added.
Vilayet Veliyev, the director of Institute of Scientific Research for Economic Reforms of the Ministry of Economic Development has also made presentation on AzMOD.
Ali Bayar, President of EcoMod Networking briefed the participants on AzMOD sectors, its prospects and relations with the Institute of Scientific Research for Economic Reforms.
General Equilibrium Model of Azerbaijan was developed by EcoMod. Work on the model began in November 2011.
