Institute of Geology has prepared “Atlas of Lithologic and Paleographic Maps of Azerbaijan”, AzerTAj correspondent learned from press-service of Department of Earth Science of the National Academy of Sciences /NAS/. The Atlas covers Devonian epoch (417 mln years ago) up to now. Atlas, prepared on the base of researches and scientific works of geologists within past 50 years, reflects ancient geography, geology and minerals of Azerbaijan, earthquakes, landslides, floods, mud volcanoes, oil resources etc. Along with the employees of the Institute of Geology, the scientists and specialists of the Institute of Geography, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, State Oil Company, Institute of Geophysics and Baku State University were actively involved in the preparation of the atlas. It consists of 44 colored 1:1000 000-scale maps; the size of the atlas is 70x50cm. The product is sold for US $ 20 000.
