GEORGIAN PARLIAMENT`S VICE-SPEAKER MEETS AZERBAIJANI PARLIAMENTARIANS
Baku, 24 February (AZERTAC). Vice-speaker of Georgian parliament Pridon Todua and his accompanying delegation met in Baku with members of Milli Majlis standing commission on international relations and interparliamentary ties.
Chairman of the commission Samad Seyidov told of fraternal relations between Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples. He described Georgia as “the best partner’ of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus.
The commission` deputy chairwoman Gultakin Hajibayli spoke of problems of more than 500 thousands of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia.
Pridon Todua, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm hospitality rendered to the delegation. He pointed out his country attaches great importance to developing relationship with Azerbaijan. Todua noted that problems of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia are in the focus of attention, adding the Georgian parliament will spare no efforts to solve them.
He also stressed his country`s parliament would discuss the Khojaly genocide in the near future.
