HEADS OF CIS MEMBER STATES TO ASSEMBLE IN BISHKEK
Council of the CIS member states will meet in Bishkek on October 10 to discuss Commonwealth`s further development prospects. The agenda includes some 19 issues related to economical and humanitarian cooperation to ensure security and optimization of the Commonwealth, CIS Executive Committee says.
The following subjects are due to be considered: ‘CIS Economical Development Strategy Project for the period to 2020’, some matters of cooperation in energy sector as the major sector of CIS states coordination activities in 2009, ‘Concept of Cooperation in the area of information security and its realization for the period of 2008-2010’, ‘Major celebration events plan on the 65th anniversary of Great Patriotic War victory’ and so on.
The heads are also expected to discuss Belarus initiative on proclamation 2009 a year of the Youth in Commonwealth.
The day before, on October 9, Bishkek will host the session of the CIS Foreign Ministers` Council. The session agenda includes CIS member states program of cooperation against the illegal migration for 2009-2011, project agreements of security and global struggle against terrorism.
