INT’L BIBLIOPHILES ASSOCIATION MARKS ITS JUBILEE
In the statements on celebration, its participants have marked that in the international community of bibliophiles existing since 1974, all those who appreciates and loves the book, cares for preservation of its priority in a spiritual life of the person and society, stimulates interest to serious reading.
Head of the Azerbaijan Society of Bibliophiles Ms. Zarifa Salahova in her warm congratulatory remarks has noted that despite of disintegration of the USSR, this Society was possible to keep, that allows and to develop to this day enlightenment work, successfully to cooperate and enrich cultural heritage of all states of Commonwealth. Z. Salahova has told also about activity of the "Book" Society of Azerbaijan, which at the end of this October too will note its 30th anniversary, about achievements of book publishing in the Republic. Speaking about activity of the first-ever museum of bibelots in Azerbaijan, by the way, created by her efforts, Zarifa Salahova has especially noted the role in this work of the national leader of Azerbaijan people Heydar Aliyev which rendered direct assistance in opening the Museum where it is exhibited 3700 bibelots of world classics issued in 51 country of the world.
In the final part of solemn ceremony, awards have been handed to active workers of the International Bibliophiles Association. Zarifa Salahova has been awarded with Ivan Fedorov memorial gold medal and Diploma of the International Bibliophiles Association “for long-term and selfless work in the name of and glory of the Book”.
