International Olympic Committee has expressed concern over nearly empty stadiums during competitions that can mislead the audience around the world watching Olympic games on TV sets. The Committee fell short on a promise to sell some 65 percent out of 5 million tickets.

It is now weighing to attract fans to stadiums by boosting the TV ads and open 35 new ticket offices. Otherwise, the organizers will have to give tickets for free as like during the Sydney Games.

“We will not be giving out tickets and there will not be discounted tickets sold because that would be unfair to those who have paid full price”, said however Michael Zacharatos, spokesman for the Athens Organizing Committee.
