MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER MEETS RUSSIAN AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN

Baku, March 16 (AZERTAC) Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli Majlis) Ogtay Asadov met Monday with Russian ambassador to Baku Vasily Istratov.

Asadov said many Russians live in Azerbaijan and they enjoy equal rights along with Azerbaijani citizens to closely participate in the country`s public and political life.

According to him, members of the Russian community are also represented in the country`s parliament and that “they play a significant role in making the world community aware about realities of Azerbaijan.

Asadov also thanked Vasily Istratov for his activity as ambassador which he described as “estimable,” and praised his contribution to developing relationship between the two countries.

Vasily Istratov, in turn, expressed satisfaction with his appointment as ambassador to Azerbaijan. He underlined in spite of his mission`s completion in Azerbaijan, he will maintain contact with the country.
