Baku, 17 March (AZERTAC). Russia’s new ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin arrives in Baku on March 18, press service of the Russian Embassy to Azerbaijan told AZERTAC. Vladimir Dorokhin was appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Russia to Azerbaijan on President Medvedev’s Decree. Russia’s new ambassador has graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. Prior to assuming this position, Mr. Dorokhin served at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of USSR and Russia and also worked at Russian diplomatic missions in foreign countries. He holds the diplomatic rank of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the second class. He is fluent in English, German and Hungarian.

Previous ambassador of Russia Vasiliy Istratov was assigned to Azerbaijan in 2006.
