NEW YOUTH ORGANIATION OPENS IN SUMGAIT

A regional division of the National Council of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan has been set up in Sumgait. There are about 15 youth organizations in Sumgait, deputy chief of the Central office for youth, sports and tourism affairs of Sumgait Fazil Mammadov told AzerTAj correspondent. The regional division will allow systematizing the activity of various youth organizations existing in the northern region and making them more involved in the socio-political life. Primarily, this organization will pave the way for foreign donors to come to Sumgait and, therefore, it will have a positive effect on social welfare in the city. Representatives of IFES, IREX and GTZ who also attended the opening ceremony expressed their intention to join the small-scale projects.

Present at the event was Chief of the Department for Work with Youth of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Tourism Farhad Hajiyev.
