NIKOLAY BAYBAKOV ARRIVED I N BAKU
Hero of Socialist Labor, Chairman of the Russian - Azerbaijan Friendship Society Nikolay Baybakov, our 94-years fellow countryman has arrived in Baku, September 4. He will be acting in the IX part of film of the known film director, full member of the European Film Academy Vagif Mustafayev "Heydar Aliyev” who have received “Grand Prix” at the European tele-forum carried out in Moscow.
As correspondent of AzerTAj informs, at the gangway of the plane, Vagif Mustafayev and the operator - director of film Valentin Piganov, met him.
Nikolay Bajbakov has told: “Its is very glad to appear at the International Airport after Heydar Aliyev. To estimate Heydar Aliyev’s grandiose merits, his name should be given still to many objects created by him. He has done huge work. More than 30 years I worked and communicated with him. In 1965, after I have been appointed Chairman of the State Plan Committee of the USSR and the Vice-Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR, I had closer connections with Heydar Aliyev.
When Heydar Aliyev has been appointed as the First Vice-Chairman of Cabinet of Ministers of the USSR, we, it is possible to tell, met daily. His contributions have left a trace in all areas connected to development of economy. It is impossible to list all these merits.
His contribution to development of economy of native Azerbaijan is incommensurable. Heydar Aliyev has devoted all his life to progress of Azerbaijan. To recollect his contribution to development of economy of the former USSR, it is enough to tell about lining of the Baykal-Amur Highway. Unfortunately, after M. Gorbachev's coming to power all worsened… Once, about two years, both of us worked in the Government of the USSR as advisers. Then, I have left on pension, and Heydar Aliyevich has come back home. New, independent Azerbaijan is Heydar Aliyev’s creation in original sense of this word. Each country very much requires such powerful and comprehensively advanced person. His bright memory will always live in our hearts.
Expressing his attitude to forthcoming shootings of film, N. Baybakov has told: “It is pleasant for me, that director Vagif Mustafayev wholeheartedly has joined this work. For the attempt carried out by him I thank him very much. I hope tit will be a good film”.
