OIC Labour ministers gather in Baku
Baku, April 26 (AZERTAC). The second conference of Labour ministers from the member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has been organized here by the Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
The aim of the conference is to lay a solid foundation for cooperation in social security field among OIC courtiers.
Presiding over the first conference Undersecretary of Labour Ministry for Planning and Development Affairs of Saudi Arabia Moffarej Al Hogubani said that after the first conference much progress was achieved in Islamic countries in development of the labour market, reduction of jobless rate, establishment of relations between private and state sectors.
Chairman of the second conference, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of Azerbaijan Fuzuli Alakbarov noted that strengthening of cooperation on labour and employment can play an important role in solving the problems getting in the way of socio-economic development.
Alakbarov underlined that building the single cooperation network in order to reduce the effects on employment environment is the right step. He noted that development of cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is the part of the wise policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Secretary General of the OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu noted that Azerbaijan takes an active part in various training programs and oil and education along with other members of the organization. He noted that the main aim of the organization was to reduce the impact of the financial crisis on member countries.
He noted the main objective in the member countries was to increase productivity, open jobs and speed up socio-economic development.
The participants of the two-day conference are expected to adopt the Baku Framework Document and resolution, as well as the Baku declaration.
