OVER 75 000 JOBS OPENED SINCE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Summing up the results of the President Ilham Aliyev’s policy towards socio-economic development of provinces, Ali Veliyev reported that GDP has increased by 22,3 trillion manats for seven months exceeding the last year figures by 9,4 percent. The industrial production rose by 4,4 percent, agricultural production - 5,6 percent, foreign trade turnover - 30 percent, cash income per capita - nearly 19 percent. Wages increased by 23,7 percent reaching 464 thousand manats mark.
As of August 1, 1 million 910 thousand of cereal were harvested. After harvesting the maize this volume is expected to reach 2 million 150 thousand tons. It is by 100 thousand tons higher than in previous year.
Foreign investments in the economy of Azerbaijan totaled $2,2 billion and it is by 40 percent higher than in corresponding period of the last year..
75 thousand 845 jobs have been opened since October last year: 50366 jobs permanent, 25429 - seasonal. 31704 jobs are open at the new enterprises. 15705 jobs became available due to the enlargement of existing organizations and enterprises. 2957 jobs are open in the enterprises, which were suspended for recent years; 7244 have been created in Absheron economic zone, 16800 - in Baku, 8439 jobs - in the Ganja-Gazakh economic zone, 3805 jobs - in Shaki-Zagatala zone, 4808 - in Lankaran economic zone, 6667 jobs - in Guba-Khachmaz zone, 18860 - in Aran zone while 5006 jobs - in Nakhchivan economic zone.
Arif Veliyev noted that 89,1 percent of jobs belong to the non-state sector. Of them 2850 jobs were opened in foreign and joint enterprises.
