PRESIDENT ILHAM ALIYEV DECREES ON CONSCRIPTION
Baku, March 17 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree on conscription of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan into active military service and on the transfer of servicemen from active military service to reserve units between April 1 and 30, 2009.
The decree is applied to all citizens of the country born in 1991 who are 18 years of age on the day of conscription, as well as those born in 1974-1990 and are under the age of 35, and those who have no right of deferral of service in the armed forces and other military services of the Republic.
Under the presidential decree, soldiers, seamen and sergeants who served their term of service envisaged by the Law of the Azerbaijan Republic “On military service” are to be discharged.
