President Ilham Aliyev meets athletes who participated in London Olympics
Baku, August 31 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan, president of the National Olympic Committee Ilham Aliyev has today met the country`s athletes, who participated in the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, and their coaches.
The Head of State and his family members were warmly welcomed by the event participants.
The ceremony featured a documentary praising the attention to developing sports and the Olympic movement in the country, and highlighting Azerbaijani athletes` victories in the Olympic Games.
The President made a speech at the event.
Then, President Ilham Aliyev`s order to award members of the Azerbaijan National Olympic team was read out.
President Ilham Aliyev presented the Shohret order, the Taraggi medal and the Honorary Diploma of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the athletes and their coaches for their contribution to developing sports in Azerbaijan and their great achievements at the London Summer Olympic Games.
The Head of State wished the Olympians and their coaches successes.
