President Ilham Aliyev receives mayor of Astrakhan Sergey Bozhenov
Baku, November 30 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Wednesday received delegation of Russian Federation led by mayor of Astrakhan city Sergey Bozhenov.
Sergey Bozhenov presented "Honourable Citizen of Astrakhan" diploma and medal to the Azerbaijan’s President. Appropriate decision was adopted on September 8, 2011 by the Municipal Duma of Astrakhan.
The similar diploma was recently presented to the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin as well, Bozhenov emphasized.
The Head of State expressed gratitude to the Municipal Duma of Astrakhan and city authorities for the decision to award him a diploma.
President Ilham Aliyev praised high level of cooperation between Baku and Astrakhan in the context of successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. President Ilham Aliyev recalled his visit to Astrakhan and inauguration of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s monument there.
Noting that the Azerbaijani businessmen are involved in the reconstruction of urban infrastructure and development of the educational sector of Astrakhan, President Ilham Aliyev stressed that all these measures serve to further strengthening of relations between two countries and two cities.
