President of Azerbaijan receives commander of U.S. Transportation Command
Baku, December 12 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today received commander of U.S. Transportation Command William Fraser.
William Fraser said he is making his first visit to Azerbaijan as commander of Transport Command, adding the same day he will pay tribute to the national leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev by visiting the Alley of Honors.
Touching upon the contribution of Azerbaijan to fight against international terrorism, William Fraser praised the country`s role in transport provision for the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan.
The Head of State noted importance of Fraser`s visit for expansion of bilateral cooperation, noting Azerbaijan takes part among the peaceful contingent from the first day. The humanitarian cooperation related to the mission is gradually expanding, the president stressed.
In meeting, also exchanged were views on joint activity of Azerbaijan and USA in fight against international terrorism, security, continuation of cooperation in the sphere of energy and other fields.
