Presidential Library hosts commemorative event dedicated to National Salvation Day

A commemorative event marking National Salvation Day was held on June 13 at the Conference Hall of the Presidential Library.
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honor of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
In her opening remarks, Director of the Presidential Library Afet Abbasova noted that June 15 – National Salvation Day – is remembered as a turning point in the history of Azerbaijani statehood. She emphasized that the return of National Leader Heydar Aliyev to power in 1993, at the insistent demand of the people, was instrumental in halting chaos and restoring stability in the country.
Afet Abbasova also highlighted that the Library's current activities are guided by the national development strategy established by Heydar Aliyev, including projects focused on the use of modern technologies and the preservation of intellectual heritage.
Other speakers at the event included the Library’s Scientific Secretary Anar Velizade, Head of the Automation, Digitization, and Electronic Resources Section Zakir Ismayilov, and Head of the Electronic Publications Translation Group Kamala Guliyeva. They discussed Heydar Aliyev’s invaluable contributions to modern state-building, as well as ongoing efforts to study, promote, and preserve his rich legacy for future generations. They emphasized that his ideas continue to serve as a cornerstone of Azerbaijan’s development path.
The event concluded with the screening of a video dedicated to the life and legacy of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, which generated strong interest among the participants.
