Presidents of Azerbaijan and European Council meet in presence of delegations
Baku, July 5 (AZERTAC). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy have today met in presence of delegations.
President Ilham Aliyev said a visit of President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy to Azerbaijan is manifestation of partnership and friendship of Azerbaijan with the European Union.
President Ilham Aliyev noted relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union cover all fields and expressed his confidence Rompuy`s visit to Azerbaijan would be successful. The Head of State said this visit will create a good opportunity to closely acquaint with the country.
President Ilham Aliyev hailed relations between Azerbaijan and the European institutions, as well as with one of the main energy partners of the country - the European Union. He expressed his confidence Herman Van Rompuy`s visit to Baku would give impetus to further expanding of partnership of Azerbaijan with the EU.
President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy expressed satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan.
On good relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union, Herman Van Rompuy said alongside with economic and energy spheres, there is a good potential for developing relations in other fields.
President of the European Council noted this visit would open new opportunities for further widening of bilateral relationship.
