PRESIDENTS OF AZERBAIJAN AND IRAN MEET IN PRESENCE OF DELEGATIONS
Tehran, March 10 (AZERTAC). Following the one-on-one meeting, Presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad of Iran have met here in the presence of the two countries` delegations.
The sides expressed satisfaction over development of bilateral relations, saying there are good prospects for cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian fields.
Development of relationship between regions of Iran and Azerbaijan including that with Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was stressed. The parties noted there are good opportunities for expanding those ties.
It was also stressed that implementation of concrete projects in the economic and energy fields is important for development of cooperation. It was noted President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev`s official visit to Iran would contribute to bilateral ties.
It was mentioned that cultural ties between the Azerbaijani and Iranian peoples have a long history. The importance of enhancing humanitarian ties was stressed. It was emphasized that development relations between the two nations contribute to regional cooperation.
It was noted the documents to be signed during President Ilham Aliyev`s official visit would build the legal framework of bilateral relationship.
The delegations shared their ideas on the prospects of bilateral relations and expressed their confidence that ties would continue to develop.
