Representatives of China’s Dalian University of Technology visit Baku State University

Baku State University (BSU) hosted a meeting with a delegation from China’s Dalian University of Technology (DUT).
The meeting was attended by Shahin Panahov, Vice-Rector for International Relations; Mais Suleymanov, Director of the Center for Organization of Scientific Activity and Innovations; Rauf Hasanov, Head of the International Department; Lachin Abishli, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations and Economics; and Galib Gafarli, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs at BSU.
From the Chinese side, the delegation included Guo Shuhong, Deputy Dean of the DUT-BSU Joint Institute; Zhang Xiuhua, Professor at the School of Marxism; Chen Zhen, Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Management and Deputy Director of the Department of Economics.
The meeting focused on exploring prospects for mutual cooperation between the two universities. The delegation was briefed on BSU’s history, structure, educational activities, and scientific achievements. In turn, the DUT representatives shared insights into their international cooperation experience.
Both sides emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge exchange in academic program development, scientific research, and joint international projects. Proposals were made to launch joint initiatives in economics, international relations, linguistics, and science and technology. The two institutions also discussed organizing faculty and student exchange programs.
Founded in 1949, Dalian University of Technology is one of the leading educational institutions in the People’s Republic of China. It currently ranks 448th in the QS World University Rankings.
