“ROUND TABLE” TAKES PLACE IN MUSEUM CENTER
Minister of Culture Polad Bulbuloglu greeted the “round table” participants including international organization representatives and noted that accession of Azerbaijan to one more Convention is very important event.
The Minister said that world community is aware of the fact that 20 percent of Azerbaijan lands are occupied by Armenian armed forces and victims of thousands of innocent people. There are over 500 historical-architectural, 100 archeological monuments and 22 museums in the occupied territories. Ministry of Culture many times informed the world community of these facts.
The Hague Convention helped save plenty of cultural property. However, conflicts developing in the world have no pity on cultural monumnets.
Secretary General of the Azerbaijan national commission for UNESCO Ramiz Abutalibov, head of the IRCC in Azerbaijan Mary Wernz and others reported on the norms regulating protection of the cultural property in armed conflicts.
In conclusion, the participants adopted the draft Resolution.
