Second from Waste to Art exhibition underway in Baku
Baku, June 18 (AZERTAC). The second international exhibition “From Waste to Art” is underway in Baku.
The international exhibition “From Waste to Art” is being held at “Qala” State History and Ethnography Preserve by the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and support of “Clean City” OJSC, “Maiden Tower” Gallery and “Icherisheher” SHCPD.
Tens of artists from around the world are demonstrating their works of art that will make people think once more before throwing old items out and transform useless items into a peace of art.
The format of this year`s exhibition allows watch live the process of transforming waste into a ready peace of art. In general 24 artists, including 8 from Azerbaijan, are working on their pieces of art right at the exhibition site.
Along with Azerbaijani artists, representatives of art from countries such as France, Italy, United Kingdom, USA, Japan, Benin, Albania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Israel, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkey and Russia have joined this international exhibition.
The participants will work on their pieces of art until June 20th, and on the same day the official closure of the exhibition will take place.
The primary objective of the exhibition is to divert people from squandering and make them think once more before throwing out old items they possess to waste bins. The participants are making interesting pieces of art using very basic and useless materials - metal, paper, plastic mass, rubber product and various domestic wastes.
The international event is held within the enlightenment program of a pilot project implemented by “Clean City” OJSC in Gala Settlement to build the waste management system being implemented in Gala settlement to modern standards.
