SIXTH BAKU INT’L FILM FESTIVAL “EAST-WEST” ENDS

A closing ceremony of the 6th Baku International Film Festival “East-West” organized by the Fund of 100th anniversary of World Cinematograph, Cinematographers Union of Azerbaijan and supported by the Confederation of Cinematographers of the CIS and Baltic countries took place at the “Azerbaijan” movie theater.

The festival was rounded off with the demonstration of the lyric drama by Sergey Solovyov “On Love”.

Chairman of the Confederation of the Cinematographers Unions of CIS and Baltic countries announced festival winners.

Film “On love” won two prizes - director and screenwriter Sergey Solovyov - for “Great Contribution to Cinematograph” and Alexander Abdulov - as “Best Actor”.

Diploma and “Best actress” prize was bestowed upon Kazakh actress Ayan Esmagambeyova who starred as Leyla in “Prayer of Leyla” movie directed by Satibalti Narimbetov.

The diploma and prize “For the most humane message to spectotors” went to Russian filmmaker Stanislav Govorukhin for “Bless Woman”.
