TWELFTH EURASIAN ECONOMIC SUMMIT KICKS OFF IN ISTANBUL
Baku, 6 May (AZERTAC). The 12th Eurasian Economic Summit organized by the Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation started today in the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.
The Summit focuses on energy, especially the Nabucco project, international economy, ecology and global environmental problems.
Head of the Socio-Political Department of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov, YAP Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary Ali Ahmadov and Vice-Speaker of Milli Majlis Valeh Alasgarov attend the event.
Ali Hasanov read out President Ilham Aliyev`s congratulatory letter to the participants.
President of the Marmara Foundation Akkan Suver said Azerbaijan has a special place in the summit. According to him, Armenia is a country which has problems with all its neighbors.
Speakers at the event said Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipelines play ‘important’ role in ensuring the world`s energy security.
They also spoke of prospects for the Nabucco projects and cooperation within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization.
